September

We are starting off this month after an unexpected break from a hurricane/tropical storm (Isaac).  We've been busy with our ELA, and should have our tall tales published soon.  Tall tales have larger-than-life characters and use exaggeration; they are usually humorous.  We are also reviewing place value and number operations in math.  I will be posting some photos from our science experiment The Fastest Person.  This week, we will start discussing properties of matter.  We will also begin new social studies activities; we will learn about several Native American tribes (Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas).
